Ambition For All

Ambition For All

At Harris Primary Academy East Dulwich, we support our pupils to develop the character attributes, traits and behaviours that we believe will help to underpin success in school and beyond, both now and in their future lives.  We call these the East Dulwich Busy Bees (values) and we believe these are the ‘keys’ to unlocking future success. At HPAD we have agreed a set of character attributes and a set of learning attributes, and the focus on developing these in our pupils is at the core of our ethos at Harris Primary Academy East Dulwich – it underpins everything we do from our curriculum to our approach to behaviour management.

Our Busy Bees emphasise the crucial link between the way in which children learn and their social knowledge and behaviour.

Our Values are more than just a subject - it is about helping our pupils grasp what is ethically important in situations and how to act for the right reasons, so that they become more autonomous and reflective. Our pupils need to decide the kind of person they wish to become, to learn to choose intelligently between alternatives, to develop good sense and to ultimately become good citizens.

Our 3 Core Values (Busy Bees) are:

 Be Respectful individuals

 Be Responsible individuals

 Be Resilient individuals

We promote the East Dulwich core values ( Busy Bees)  in many ways, including:

  • The language we use as a community to discuss learning and behaviour;
  • The way we celebrate learning;
  • The decisions we make as an Academy;
  • Our approach to behaviour management.
